There are 84,000 chemicals registered for use in the United States, only 200 of which have been assessed for safety. There are no legal limits for more than 160 unregulated contaminants in U.S. tap water.  Nine out of ten people do not meet air quality set by World Health Organization. The EPA’s Maximum Contaminant Levels, or MCLs, haven’t been updated in almost 50 years. 1938 was the last time a federal law regulating cosmetics was passed.

A research study showed that 287 carcinogenic chemicals present in babies before they were born.  In the last 50 years our environment has become increasingly more polluted. This has resulted in a greater human toxic burden than ever before.

So, no matter how careful we are or where we live, we all have some level of exposure.  This has created a challenging task for our bodies to get rid of these substances.

At times the nutrients and cofactors needed to efficiently detox can be inadequate for the great degree of toxin exposure.  The build up these toxins is a slow poison, creating general symptoms of fatigue, malaise, brain fog and weight gain.

Our bodies utilize a process call biotransformation, or commonly known as detox, to rid harmful chemicals and toxins.

At VitalityLab we support the phases of detox in every patient, but in cases of known exposure, we can measure specific levels of toxins, chemicals, heavy metals and mold/mycotoxins.

We run labs to measure persistent toxic load such as a Heavy Metal Profile for Mercury, Lead, Arsenic, Caduim and others. We also screen for the presence of 173 different non-persistent toxic chemicals and Tiglylglycine, a marker for mitochondrial disorders resulting from toxic load. We  evaluate for glyphosate, a common pesticide known as Roundup.

Not only can one have high levels of toxins, but one can have immune reactions to chemicals indifferent of exposure levels. We measure loss of immune tolerance to chemicals such as formaldehyde, benzene, BPA, parabens and heavy metals.
