HEART

Revered for its ability to grant us life and influence emotions, the heart and circulation system play a critical role in health, happiness, well-being, and longevity.  Transporting essential oxygen, fuel, nutrients, hormones, the heart will beat about 2.5 billion times over the average lifetime, pushing millions of gallons of blood to every part of the body.  However, recent research reveals that the heart is much more than just a pump.  Scientists found that the heart has about 40,000 specialized neurons that can sense, feel, learn and remember, forming a sophisticated communication network just within the heart itself.
